Four routes, four stories

Explore Amasya by following a story: the princes, the water, everyday life along the river, or the kings of Pontus in the rocks of Harşena. Choose where to begin. When you reach a stop you can stamp its seal in your passport; collect every seal on a route and its certificate opens.

Where shall I start?

Four routes on one map

The dotted lines show the order of the stops, not the streets to walk; for the way there, use the walking route buttons on the stop pages. A two-coloured marker is a stop on two routes; a marker with a dashed edge is a stop whose coordinates are still provisional. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL licence.

Ancient Traces

Tombs of kings carved into the rock, the castle on Harşena, a water channel from the Roman period: this route takes you through the city's oldest layers. Along the way there is also a mosque of Byzantine origin, and mosques, a madrasa and tombs from the first centuries of the Turkish period (13th–14th centuries); the route ends at the museum.
