The Timeline
Five monuments are jumbled up. Put them in order with the oldest at the top. Use the arrows, then press Check.
Round 1
Best: —The oldest should be number 1.
None of the dates in this game is made up. The years come from the book Kültürel Miras Boyutuyla Amasya and from the sources on the stop pages. Monuments on which the sources disagree (for example the Halifet Gazi Tomb or the Çağlayan Bridge) were left out of this game altogether — because we cannot mark as “wrong” something that has no certain answer. Their story is on their own stop pages.
Finding it hard?
- The type under a monument's name gives a clue: Seljuk-period buildings are mostly tombs and madrasas, while the rising Ottoman period is dominated by mosques and complexes.
- Personal names help: titles such as “Kapı Ağası” (Agha of the Gate) and “Paşa” point to the Ottomans, names like “Torumtay” to the Seljuks.
- Once you have checked, each monument's real year and a link to its stop page appear. Read up there and come back.
